Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born on the 18th of November the 18th of November, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's talent for athletics was evident right from the first day she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her first attempt, she finished in second place in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003 signed a sports contract with Adidas. Then she attended college at the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record taking 200 meters in 22.18 secs. The year 2005 was the time she became the youngest World Champion in the 200m in the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007 by beating her longtime Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently among the top 3 athletes across her diverse events during the Olympics which took place in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
