Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she was gifted in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came third in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and signed an official contract for Adidas. In 2004 she enrolled in the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. She was the youngest world champion of 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007 beating her longtime Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix took part in her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo regularly placing in the top three in all her competitions.
